I set it all up on my 8x10 and my bass rig is officially taller than I am. I've got some time to get the levels just right before we play with Have Heart and Verse.

We had two shows this weekend. Friday was an early show with Decades from Texas. Honestly some of the most solid dudes I've had the pleasure of kicking it with. Best of luck to them on the rest of the tour.

Unhealthy obsession

For anyone who doesn't know me, I have an obsession with longsleeve shirts. It can be 90 degrees outside, and if a band has a dope long sleeve on the merch table, or I find a sweet one on the interwebs, I gotta buy it. The most recent purchase was the Blacklisted "Lady Justice" tour longsleeve. I have been checking the mail anxiously ever day for the past week and a half waiting for this shirt. It finally came in yesterday. Basically...it rules.

Platinum P.I.M.P.S.

So I'm still sitting here at work, and Jawn tells me to check out this band called the Platinum P.I.M.P.S. Imagine a group of the skinniest, nerdiest white guys you can imagine, rapping about Tolkien, Zelda, and various other video games, mixed in with the funniest sexual references ever. That's the Platinum P.I.M.P.S. This shit made my day.

Saw Death Cab For Cutie last night. All and all it was a good show, aside from the hundreds of drunk fraternity guys trying to start football-esque chants. My allergies are making my head explode, and I'm stuck here at work feeling like total shit.

The dim mak death touch...

These past few days have been pretty crazy. Some dumb shit happened, I'm an idiot, I kicked a big dent in my car. That's the quick summary. Wednesday night I went home to KC for Ceremony/Homefront/Life Long Tragedy show. It was Mary's last show before she moves to Baltimore. I'll miss her but at least she is getting out of the muidwest. It was weird being back in KC, and of course nothing has changed. People are still the same, except it has turned into even more of a "whose dick is bigger" mosh contest. But I guess all these kids from the "suburbs" don't deserve to come out to your little DIY venue and smell your nasty body odor and ruin the amazing KC hardcore scene that you worked so tirelessly to build right? Fuck yourselves.

Anyway, aside from that retardedness, we have a tour in the works, so stay tuned on that one. We're playing a show tonight, and two next weekend, and some pretty sweet shows will be coming through Columbia later in the summer. Including this band, www.myspace.com/forfeitny. Forfeit is totally rad band out of NY on Reaper Records. Check them out cause they're going to make you want to destroy things, for real.

Oh something else I am wayyyy excited about, Gabe and I will be starting on my full traditional Japanese sleeve very soon. Soon as in as soon as my stupid sunburn is done peeling off my arm. Definitely stoked on this. I'm sure there will be some photo updates here when we start.

Your Ex-Lover Is Dead

So I open this blog in a sort of funk. Life has its up's and down's, and this moment in time is most definitely a down. These past few days have really just left me with a sinking feeling in my stomach. I'm most likely going to be kicked out of college due to grades, and I think what bothers me the most is I don't really care.

With that said, I'm over the whole complaining part of this. I've got the best friends ever, getting a house in a week, I've got a rad girlfriend, the weather is getting nice and Get Serious doesn't seem to be a total bust. I should really just quit listening to sad music and get positive.
